Bryn Mawr curve
Emerging from the cutting, the character of the line has changed dramatically. The line traverses the dry stone embankment known as Bryn Mawr on a sharp curve and the tourist has a view up the valley towards Mynydd-yn-Bwlch - and also down, one hundred and fifty feet to the floor of the valley. This is not a curve for the faint-hearted! The locomotive is still working hard on the curve, swaying as it follows the rails on the top of the embankment.
Return down the line, return to the map or continue up the line.

150 feet above us and with a train of four-wheelers bound for Mynydd-yn-Bwlch, 'Talyllyn' carefully picks her way along the top of the embankment.

'Russell' is perfectly matched to the short bogie coaches as can be seen here as she hauls her train across the 60-foot high embankment.
